The bathroom and shower. Very refreshing, particularly liked the size of towels, it makes a pleasant change from the tiny ones adopted by other hotel chains.
Coffee was too strong at breakfast and the breakfast itself was very greasy.
Attended 1 day convention at nearby Jehovahs' Witnesses convention centre
My husband had tio leve early at 0700am and requested a continental breakfast .This message was not passed on to the kitchen/breakfast staff but once i arrived they did the best they could and I ddi get a breakfast and coffee though not all items
Restaurant staff were first class and extremely helpful and food very good
Nice hotel, found decor in room too dark and not relaxing. .
Pleasant design of bar, quick food service.Very good breakfast - reasonable choice of options, but all very good quality.
The breakfast excellent. I am sure if we had more time we would have used more of the facillities. Thanks for a lovely stay.
This hotel is far the best among 3 stars hotels that I have stayed in. When I arrived I was more than pleased by the location and especially by its lobby area. I could see how good the hotel was by the movement of people around either going to gym , swimming, wedding reception or guests checking in and out. The professionalism of the staff was second to none. I was welcomed and made aware of all services available at this hotel. The bedroom was comfortable and equipped with a lot of facilities one will expect in 4 or 5 stars hotels (Tea facilities, Ironing facilities including pressing board, mini fridge, TV with satellite and Wi-fi....). My children liked the sofa bed prepared for them to the extend that they would like to stay in village hotel any where here or abroad. The restaurant was splendid we had a breakfast in morning and we can complain of nothing, there was a variety of choice for every one. The hotel in general is very well decorated but I will suggest that you think of refurbishing it as tear and wear on the floor carpet is noticeable. In addition congratulation for minimizing electricity waste as lights are switched on only when the guest is inside with the room key.
Not many thing to dislike in this hotel only I will advise you to improve cleaning service and repair some cracks on ceiling. The bathroom floor tiles near the radiator have changed color due to poor maintenance. Fixing these cracks wherever they are will not cost much, this will improve the outstanding quality of this hotel and making it one of the beautiful 3star hotel. Spray a little bit of fragrance please.
Although the hotel boasts a pool and leisure centre, it is very very busy especially in the late afternoon and early morning on the weekend. This is not due to the hotel guests using the facilities but the number of locals who are member of the leisure club.
The food was very good and the rooms were comfortable.
The busser at breakfast was very rude and sarcastic because we sat at a table without his permission.
The hotel was in a good location and had good transport links. It was ideal for our visit to see relatives.
I did try have some issues with the room. The tv was faulty and would not work unless you waggled the wire around. The heater radiator was coming away from the wall and th toilet flush seemed to take forever to re-fill. I did tell the person on the desk the on the morning we left but I do not think he took any action because he did not write anything in a log to report the faults. I felt as though he was paying lip service to me. The room in question was 141.
it was close to where we where visiting , made welcome when we arrived and staff were very frindley and helpful. This felt like a luxury break will call again
The hotel is well situated for the Zoo and the Black country museum and in fact Dudley town itself. The staff were always helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.
We have stayed at a number of village hotels before and have stayed at this one before some 6 years ago. However room 151 is in a poor state. The paint is peeling from the bathroom ceiling and also the boarder around the room is also peeling off. There is no information about the hotel in the room at all which is suprising. Also in the foyer area there is no information about Dudley or places of interest to visit. We ate in the Verve restaurant on Saturday. Having ordered the most expensive steak on the menu was disappointed with its quality. I did point this out to the waiter who disnt seem to know what to do about it. A little disappointing.
Quick response to our needs, helpful and pleasant staff, clean rooms
The location suited me. The bed was comfortable.
The hotel is in major need of refurbishment, our room was very dated, lampshades were shody, curtains were haning off the rail. No toiletries in the bathroom. The soap dispenser didn't work. At night it was noisy with the disco blaring out as we tried to sleep. Food was ok. Overall the hotel was adequate for our stay, but wouldn't recommend it. Staff were friendly though.
No electricity on returning to room. Attended to promptly by staff.
Very noisy patronage. Thought someone was being murdered in next room. Noisy evening functions which can be heard in your room. Window lock broken. Shower had dispenser on wall with shower gel. Handwash dispenser broken. No toiletries in bathroom. Even the lowiest B&B where I've stayed had toiletries.
staff were lovely- couldn't do enough for us- very friendly, helpful, respectful and happy. pool was lovely, and everywhere very clean
meal in restaurant was lovely -cleared our plates. But- the starbucks cafe in foya too expensive for lunch- £5 a sandwhich- so we nipped to tesco next door and ate a french stick and cheese and grapes for less than a £5!
